1) Golden State Warriors vs. 8) New Orleans Pelicans- It’s a great story line for the Pelicans to make the playoffs on the last game of the season in addition to showcasing the league’s rising star in Anthony Davis. That being said, the Warriors will be too much for New Orleans trying to maintain the Splash Brothers and crew. (Warriors in 5 games)
2)Houston Rockets vs. 7) Dallas Mavericks- I’ll keep this one short and sweet; the Mavericks who are limping into the playoffs not because of injuries but due to lack of team chemistry and unity will not be able to stop the Rockets. (Rockets in 4-5)
3) Los Angeles Clippers vs. 6) San Antonio Spurs- What a turn of events for San Antonio, who went from 2nd place to 6th place in the west in one night. Now instead of having home court for the first two rounds in the playoffs, they’ll be the road team for practically the entire playoffs. Going against the Clippers, who are looking to get a deep run going in the playoffs, this should be an interesting match up. I’ll take the streaking Spurs in 5-6 games for this one. (Spurs in 5-6).
4) Portland Trailblazers vs. 5) Memphis Grizzlies- With the Grizzlies having some key injuries going into the playoffs, they are at a disadvantage going against the young Blazers who want to get back into the 2nd round of the west playoffs. If they can get healthy enough, they might be able to play tough enough defense to keep the score low and give them a shot at winning a few games. This may go the full 7 games, but I’ll still take the Blazers in 6 games.
